All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and former Union minister Mukul Wasnik and AICC Secretary Rajesh Kalia were present during the gherao.

Pointing out that 70 days have passed since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the scrapping of high-denomination currency notes on November 8, Wasnik said, “Failure to restore the cash supply has paralysed India’s economy, leading to massive loss of jobs and closure of businesses on a daily basis.”

The Congress has demanded that the supply of the money should be done by using the old method. The responsible people should be held for the dilemma of the people after the note ban.
