Congressmen headed by the State Congress President Kantilal Bhuria and leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh visited hail storm affected areas of Betul and Shajapur regions on Thursday. MlA Sanjay Pathak accompanied them.
After the aerial survey of the affected regions, the leaders reviewed the loss to the farmers and discussed about the compensation for the damaged crops.
The delegation also visited Kalapeepal of Shajapur district and expressed displeasure over the sluggish pace of compensation for the damaged crops. They were of the opinion that the district administration should made all the arrangements required for the speedy survey and providing compensation to the surveyed farmers as the unexpected harsh weather conditions have created a major problem for the farmers.
Immediate financial aid for the farmers should be released by the state government. The state government should lend a helping hand and should stand by the side of farmers in the current period of crisis.
