Concerned with worst-ever defeat in the Assembly elections, the Congress parliamentarians are now engaged to set their homes in order. Union Minister and Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia would camp for three days in his constituency and he would visit the homes of his workers and participate in two dozen programmes.
MPCC president and Jhabua MP Kantilal Bhuria is already busy in doing surgery of the party office bearers hailing from his constituency. He has changed three district presidents coming under his constituency in order to set his parliamentary seat as per his wishes. Party leadership has also issued instructions to union minister and Chhindwada MP Kamalnath, former union minister and Khargone MP Arun Yadav, Dewas MP Sajjan Singh Verma, Mandsaur MP Meenakshi Natrajan and Ujjain MP Premchand Guddu to start camping in their respective constituencies.
Sources informed that the Congress fared good only in the parliamentary constituency of Scindia during the assembly elections while it suffered humiliating defeat in the constituencies of other parliamentarians.
The condition was so poor that in the constituencies of Natrajan and Yadav the party could win only one Assembly seat while worst was the condition of constituencies of Verma and Guddu where Congress failed to even open account. Guddu’s son also lost the Assembly election.
The party got disappointed in the forts of Kamalnath and Congress general secretary and former chief minister Digvijay Singh’s forts. The party only got good news from the stronghold of former leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh.
