Former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur has become the centre of attraction for the Congress party and the media persons for the past two days. Over a hundred persons, besides his supporters, had met him at his official residence at 74, Bungalow locality till Saturday night.

After Gaur was forced to tender resignation from the post of Cabinet Minister on the criteria of having crossed 75 years of age, he openly expressed his sentiments that this was total injustice to him and his colleague Sartaj Singh, who also met a similar fate.

Gaur also went to the extent of criticizing the national leadership and the party high command for taking this whimsical decision of not allowing the leaders having crossed 75 years of age to become Minister.

Notably, Gaur was a union leader while working in a cloth mill in Bhopal several decades ago and later joined the BJP. It was more than 50 years ago, he had joined the BJP and worked at all the posts and also occupied the office of Chief Minister.

Smelling dissent from Gaur, senior Congress leaders, including Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Arun Yadav, former leader of Opposition Ajay Singh and Rameshwar Neekhra reached his residence. They discussed the issue of his stepping down.

Soon after these leaders left after around 30 minutes, Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta was told to visit Gaur and he reached the bungalow.

On Friday, State Congress chief spokesman KK Mishra too visited Gaur at his residence and told media persons that the BJP's treatment to such a senior leader was not justified. "The BJP believes in 'use and throw' policy and thus Gaur has been ousted from the Cabinet without telling him his faults," he added.
