The Congress has become a party of Rannchhod (one who leaves the battlefield) and its leaders are not contesting elections fearing defeat,” said Ananth Kumar, BJP general secretary in charge of Madhya Pradesh, during a press conference here on Saturday.
“They don’t even have a prime ministerial candidate and they even overlooked their Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the election,” he said.
The BJP leader said that in the last 10 years, the country witnessed various scams and possibly this is the reason why their prime minister was not campaigning in the elections.
He added that BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took part in 380 rallies in various parts of the country and had successfully established direct communication with more than five crore people, which is the sole reason of Modi wave, as people find him close to them.
He further said that the Congress had not made any statement yet on its performance in their 10-year reign and it’s only targeting individuals and making personal remarks.
He said that the Congress-led UPA government failed miserably in the field of economic growth, national security and others and pushed the country backward. He said that the ruling party turned into a party of Ran-Chhod.
Its senior leaders are not contesting elections fearing defeat, and are busy finding out flaws of other party leaders.
He said the Congress would not get more than 100 seats in this election, and the BJP would cross the magic figure of 272 on its own and along with allies, the party would touch 320 mark.
In 10 years of Congress rule, the mother-son duo looted the nation alonwith Robert Vadra. Ananth Kumar said that the BJP had made a resolution to connect 32 rivers of the country which would be commenced after the elections.
Replying to a question, he said that no ministers of the BJP were involved in the Vyapam scam. Answering another question, he said that the party would win more seats than the last time in Karnataka.
He further said that the party had won elections last time with Atal Behari Vajpayee as the leader and would register a major win this time round under the leadership of Modi.
