Cong leader to end satyagraha by holding Kisan Mahapanchayat

Former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday said that his 72-hour Satyagraha for farmers would culminate in the form of a Kisan Mahapanchayat on June 17 but the struggle initiated by the party would continue in the interest of farmers.

Talking to reporters at the state’s Congress Committee office, Scindia, who was accompanied by senior leaders, said the party would carry on the struggle at every block, at every village.

He had started his 72-hour fast in response to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s one-day 'peace fast' at Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal.

“I have raised farmers’ issues in the parliament in the past and would continue to do so in future as well,” he said.
