Cong jubilation mocks satyagraha for farmers

An anti-Shivraj Singh Chauhan Government stir at TT Nagar Dussehra ground has turned into a unity exercise and festive look instead of expressing solidarity with agitating farmers.

The atmosphere at the TT Nagar Dussehra ground has similar scenes suggesting that the Congress leaders are celebrating the occasion expressing unity. After a long time, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia were seen sharing dais after a long time.

At the venue, Scindia on Wednesday launched his 72-hour satyagraha in favour of the demands of the farmers and against the alleged bullying attitude of the State Government against the farmers.

The leaders present at the venue since Wednesday continued pulling the State Government and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for apathetic attitude towards farmers.

The Satyagraha of Scindia commenced after few days of Chief Minister’s two-day fast. It was seen as a counter attack by Congress on Chouhan. However, in past two days, the Congress leaders — including Scindia, leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh, Arun Yadav, Congress MlA Govind Singh and former MlA KP Singh — were seen busy in lighter moods at several occasions.

The Satyagraha was organised to counter Chief Minister over the issue of killing of five innocent farmers by the bullets of police in Mandsaur. However, the leaders did not look serious over the issue and indulged in enjoying the gathering of their partymen.

Only some seriousness was witnessed when former chief minister and Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh arrived at the venue on Thursday afternoon and the occasions, when Scindia addressed the partymen.

A local Congress leader safeguarded his leaders, when asked about their laughs. He said that this was natural at the time when the leaders meet. However, he claimed that his party was quite serious about the issue of killing of farmers.
