A day after former leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh demanded action against him, expelled Congress MlA Narayan Tripathi on Sunday struck back and hold Singh a scab. Tripathi does not stop here and also dragged Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh in the ongoing controversy and held him responsible for ruining Congress in the State.
Tripathi considered close confidant of former state Congress president Suresh Pachouri holding Congress general secretary and former leader of opposition responsible for the bad condition of party in the state said, “The Congress is in its worst position in the State due to Digvijay Singh and Ajay Singh and action should be initiated against these leaders if Congress needs to revive.”
Notably, senior Congress leader Ajay Singh on Saturday said that he will not attend the Madhya Pradesh Assembly session unless the party takes action against MlA Narayan Tripathi, who left Congress to join the BJP just before the lok Sabha elections. The Congress has so far not expelled Tripathi, because of which he is still sitting with the Congress legislature Party in the House and this is unacceptable, Singh said.
An announcement to expel Tripathi had been made, but on records he still continues to be with the Congress, the leader claimed. State Congress President Arun Yadav has made announcement to expel Tripathi during party workers conclave at Maihar only on June 20.After joining the BJP, Tripathi, the MlA from Maihar seat in Satna, had campaigned against Ajay Singh, who had unsuccessfully contested from the Satna constituency, during the lok Sabha elections held earlier this year.
Tripathi was first elected to the state assembly on Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket in 2003, later on he became SP state president and again contested 2008 assembly election on SP ticket but was defeated, after that he left the SP to join Congress and in 2013 he again got elected from Maihar on Congress ticket.
