'Cong has turned itself into an allegation party'

The infamous Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam has crossed the boundaries of the State and is now drawing attention on national level.

Countering Congress party allegations that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’ s kin and Union Cabinet Minister for Water Resources, River Development, Ganga Rejuvenation and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma  Bharti  are involved in the scam, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday termed the Congress as a party that has transformed itself into an ‘allegation party’.

While commenting on the MPPEB scam where the Congress has apparently dragged Bharati’s name into it, he said, “Congress had earlier been a All India Corruption Congress, now it has turned itself into a party that levels allegation each day. It does not understand the fact that the country has not given a mandate to listen to such non-serious and baseless allegations.”

The Congress had raised Union Minister Uma Bharti’s name in the Madhya Pradesh’s Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam) admissions scam. During a press conference, Congress spokesperson KK Mishra reportedly disclosed the call details of the Central minister accusing her of using political influence for 15 admissions in Government jobs.

The recruitment scam had reportedly involved manipulation in the selection process for Government jobs conducted by the MPPEB.

A Special Task Force has been constituted for an investigation into the scam which had detained laxmikant Sharma, a former State Technical Education Minister, for interrogation.

The high profile teacher’s recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh is being linked to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s wife, Sadhna Singh.

Mocking the Government, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader DP Tripathi also commented on the MPPEB scam saying, “The State Chief Minister has said that the law should take its due course. I think this is what we should do also.”

He said it was wrong to level allegations against the Chief Minister and his council of ministers before the case is tried.
