To save the issue of MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), Congress, the main Opposition in the State Assembly, on Wednesday deliberately halted the proceedings of the House in the evening.
After having expressed their views during the discussion on the adjournment motion over the MPPEB scam, the Opposition members including leader of the Opposition Satyadev Katare declined to pay heed to the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's reply. Till 5.20 pm, everything went smoothly in the House, as several members took part in the discussion over the adjournment motion brought by the Congress. The Congress was demanding a CBI probe in the scam alleging that the CM's relatives and other 'big shots' were involved in the scam. Finally, when the Chief Minister began replying, the Congress thought that after the CM's reply the seriousness of the issue would diminish. Thus, the leader of the Opposition interrupted saying that whatever allegations the CM was leveling on the previous Congress Governments were not related to the adjournment motion.
However, later Katare told the House that without the announcement of a CBI probe in the scam, Congress members would not allow the CM to reply. later, talking to media persons, Katare said that the CM should declare CBI probe in all the issues- MPPEB scam and the allegations leveled by the CM on previous Congress Governments.
The Speaker gave the ruling that before completing the reply of the CM, how the Opposition members could consider that he was not going to announce a CBI probe in the scam. However, the Congress members continued to create a pandemonium in the House and later, the Speaker adjourned the House for the day. Notably, PCC chief Arun Yadav and other leaders of the PCC were present in the Speaker's gallery during the discussion.
