Cong demands probe into Makhanlal University appointments

Published on:

leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly  Satyadev Katare on Friday filed a complaint with the Special Police Establishment (SPE) of lokayukta alleging that the recruitments in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism were illegally made under pressure from Chief Minister, BJP and RSS leaders.

Katare along with the State Congress president Arun Yadav submitted a written complaint in this regard with the Superintendent of Police of lokayukta police. In the complaint, the allegations were made in details and requested the lokayukta police to investigate the matter and register an FIR against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former ministers Raghavji and laxmikant Sharma for making forged appointments on important posts in the University.

Alleging that around Rs 250 crore corruption was done in the appointments in the University, Katare told media persons that the appointments were made by taking cash against each job and the whole racket moved around the Chief Minister. Katare has been raising this issue for over one month and demanding free and fair investigation. He also wanted to raise this issue in the State assembly, but failed, as the House session concluded sine die abruptly.

Similarly, the Congress has also made the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) case, an issue in the State. The opposition leaders have been demanding CBI probe in the scam, but the BJP leaders and the Chief Minister are not paying any heed towards it. The Pradesh Congress Committee and the Youth Congress have been protesting almost everyday in the State capital and other parts of the State. PCC Chief Arun Yadav has claimed that the Congress leaders would also protest at Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi raising similar demand of the CBI probe in the MPPEB scam.
