Alleging irregularities in Bundelkhand package and dam scam of Panna, State Congress demanded criminal case against Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya and Additional Chief Secretary Radheshyam Julania.
Madhya Pradesh Congress committee president Arun Yadav in a statement here on Tuesday alleged that huge irregularities were committed in the `8,500 crore special Bundelkhand package granted by erstwhile UPA II. Wish to know from the State Government that where the huge amount spent and its expenditure details.
Yadav also demanded a white paper over the issue in comprehensive interest of Bundelkhand.
Yadav said Siswaha dam constructed at the cost of Rs 58 crore and Bilkhura dam constructed at the cost of Rs 11 crore were have been devastated within one year of their construction. This reflects the huge corruption going on in the State.
He said that a magisterial inquiry should be initiated to to find why then principal secretary of Water Resources department Julania remained silent despite getting information a few hours before the collapse of the dam from the then Panna collector AS Chouhan. While on the otherhand, the Chief Minister has granted service extension to the chief engineer of water resources department MG Chobey, for the fifth time. This also raises questions over the intentions of the Chief Minister.
He alleged that the corruption in the water resources department is going on under Finance Minister Malaya, Julania and Chobe who are hand in gloves.
When a case of financial crime could be registered against a collector of Bundelkhand region for corruption in irrigation area, then why is the State Government is hesitating to take action against the Minister who is accountable for dam construction and other blue eyed officials, he added.
