The Madhya Pradesh Congress on Thursday alleged that the main accused in the Katni hawala scam, Satish and Manish Sarawgi, are associated with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and demanded Chouhan’s and Minister Sanjay Pathak’s resignation.
While talking to media persons, chief spokesman of the State Congress KK Mishra said, “BJP State president’s son who is a murder accused is also involved in State Minister Sanjay Pathak’s hawala scam. The Chief Minister who made Pathak Minister by taking bribe of crores of rupees should take the resignation of Pathak and he should also resign.”
Mishra also released the picture of hawala scam accused Satish Saraogi with the Chief Minister and Pathak.
Mishra said, “The exposure of `500 hawala scam by a popular and honest IPS officer, Gaurav Tiwari, in that direct involvement of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Sanjay Pathak was found with the main accused in the scam, the Congress party demands that Chief Minister should immediately take the resignation of Pathak who left the Congress to join the BJP for his own personal benefits. Besides the Chief Minister who is protecting the son of BJP’s State President who is partner in all the illegal businesses of Pathak besides an accused in the Mayur murder case should also resign as the Chief Minister.”
Mishra said that the direct patronage provided by the Chief Minister to the accused of the hawala scam and transfer of honest IPS officer Gaurav Tiwari is a direct challenge of the Chief Minister to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his fight against black money through demonetarisation.
He said that the Congress has certain questions over this hawala scam that is the biggest scam after demonetisation in the State and the Chief Minister and the State Government need to answer those queries including if the huge amount of `500 crore exposed in the scam doesn’t belong to Pathak, then whose is thatIJ Besides, the senior Congress leader has asked some more questions and sought reply from Chouhan.
