A day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that the Congress and BJP are hand in glove in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress defended Delhi’s AAP Government’s decision of paying fee of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a defamation case.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief spokesman KK Mishra in a statement here on Thursday said, “The BJP is adopting dual political character over the issue of AAP Government paying heavy fees of advocates for chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in a defamation case.”
Mishra claimed that in a similar case the Madhya Pradesh government paid the fees of advocates for chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the BJP did not raised questions over that. In Delhi the BJP is terming the fees paid by Kejriwal to his advocate Ram Jethmalani, a dacoity over public money while its government in Madhya Pradesh paid Rs 11 lakh per hearing to the advocates of chief minister Chouhan and this was ensured that the payment of advocates would be made by the General Administration Department (GAD) of the state Government. The MP Government’s law department issued due orders in this regard on December 9, 2011, he added.
He asked the BJP if the fees paid by Kejriwal to his advocate is dacoity over public money than the money spent by Chouhan to save himself from the allegations of corruption in the dumper scam were meant for pious humanity service.
The senior Congress leader advised to his ach political rival BJP that those living in house of glass should not throw stones at other’s houses.
