Cong criticises Indira, Rajiv's name removal

Alleging that the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre is working with biased mentality, former leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh criticised removal of the names of former Primer Minister Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi from the Rajbhasha (official language) awards.

Besides, Singh has also criticised Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu for terming the speech of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament as sermons of satan.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Singh stated that the real face of the BJP Government has been exposed in just few months after it came to power. “The BJP came to power by showing dreams of ‘good days’ to the people, but after coming to power, it has started working with vendetta against the Congress. It is unfortunate that instead of fulfilling the dreams of the people, it is working towards maligning the previous Governments,” he added.

Singh stated that people of the country are well aware of the personalities like Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and thus their names were associated with the official language awards, but by removing their names from the awards, the BJP has showcased mean mentality. With this act, the BJP has lost its reliability among the people, he added.

He alleged that the ministers in the Narendra Modi Government have lost their wits, as they have come down to such an extent that they term the statement of Congress leader talking towards welfare of farmers as sermons of satan. “Factually, the BJP having Hitler mentality has lost its faith in the democratic system of the country,” he alleged.
