While the Congress has been continuously demanding action against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his alleged involvement in the infamous Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), Chouhan is totally confident over the issue and feels that he would emerge clean. Notably, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh time and again raised the issue alleging that at the behest of the Chief Minister, the original Excel-sheet that was recovered from the system analyst, has been tampered with to remove his (Chouhan's) name.
Singh also lodged a written complaint with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the High Court to look into the matter. He had demanded inclusion of the name of Chouhan in the FIR. However, Chouhan was full of confidence, when this correspondent met him at his residence a few days back. He seemed pained at the allegation of the Congress, but said, "I would write a book on the whole issue and how the Congress tried to malign my image."
Notably, Digvijay Singh after his complaint letter to the SIT on March 23, on Saturday shot another letter reminding the SIT Chairman about his complaint and sought to know as what he was doing to his complaint. All the senior Congress leaders, including Digvijay Singh, had also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to take stern action against those who are being safeguarded in the MPPEB scam. Sources claimed that officials from the PMO are on the job and they have visited Indore and Bhopal to find out the realities in the light of the allegations of Congress leaders.
