Alleging gross irregularities in the medical course (MBBS) counselling, former Congress legislator PC Sharma has demanded CBI inquiry in the incident and strict action against the Chief Secretary and Director of Medical Education Department (DME).
He has termed the irregularities of the medical counseling as ‘Vyapam 2’ and demanded CBI probe in the issue.
While talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Sharma alleged that the state government has cheated the eligible domicile students and their parents by not giving them admissions in medical colleges. Seats were allotted to the students from outside Madhya Pradesh.
He further alleged that the government has violated the Supreme Court’s order by not giving admissions to the domicile students first. The government has sold the 275 seats of the NRI quota on the basis of the fake NRI certificates, he alleged.
He stated that government and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) mutually conducted this scam. ABVP has stopped the counseling in order to interfere in the process. The NRI quota has some reserved seats for the students of ST and SC but the government allotted no seats to the eligible ST-SC students. The state government has cheated the dalits and the ST-SC students. Directorate of Medical Education (DME) and colleges jointly cheated the students by giving the advertisements for admission.
Sharma further stated that the government has also supported the private colleges by not taking action against them. Students were not provided the chance of upgradation of the seat due to which many seats remained vacant. Congress will continuously protest regarding the issue in the Vidhan Sabha.
