As the National Democratic Alliance unequivocally lost the Bihar Assembly poll battle, Madhya Pradesh’s principal opposition Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday evinced similar perceptions of the debacle.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Arun Yadav said in a statement, “The outcome translates into parochialism and vainglory biting the dust in front of tolerance and secular values. It has become clear that Indian democracy will continue not through pleasing slogans, intolerance, hollow promises of development and progress, suits and boots but through firm willpower vis a vis nation building, programmes, reflection and transparent decisions besides their proper implementation in the context of amity.”
Yadav further said the victory of the Janata Dal-United led Grand Alliance in Bihar will rejuvenate the Congress camp, which has been seeing debacles in the State since last three assembly elections. “The grand victory of Nitish ji, lalu ji and Sonia ji is a verdict of the people of Bihar against communal, divisive and anti-poor forces. The victory of the Grand Alliance has come at a time when intolerance is
on the rise. It is a victory of secular, progressive forces,” he added.
The Delhi and Bihar results constitute a major message in favour of amiability, refinement, and honest political values as opposed to political egoism.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Spokesperson and state Convenor Alok Agarwal said in a statement that the Bihar upshot was a defeat of premier Narendra Modi’s empty assurances and a victory of communal harmony. "Today, the victory of the Grand Alliance in Bihar proved that the communal forces are not going to work in India," he added.
The Bharatiya Janata Party which won the general election one-and-a-half years back by making massive announcements vis--vis high prices, unemployment, graft, black money has been unable to fulfill even a single promise, he added.
