The three-day Asian Regional Conference on Peri-Urbanisation (ARCP) began here from Tuesday at School of Planning and Architecture (SPA).
It is an international platform for scholars, researchers and practitioners to discuss interdisciplinary research and evidence of practices about peri-urbanisation from the perspective of regional development, urban geography, urban planning, urban design and all allied sub-domains.
Prospective authors are invited to submit original research abstracts and full papers which have not been published in any journal or presented in any conference or published in any seminar and conference proceedings or also have not been submitted for consideration in any other conference or any journal.
The purpose of the conference is to promote dissemination of Asian urbanisation studies and collaboration among Asian universities and research institutions, even governments, in order to strengthen sustainable urban and rural futures.
The conference discussions will aim to address the following questions How the characteristics and driving forces of peri-urbanization vary from context to context, How effective are the means of participation, governance or administration structures and processes for envisioning and achieving sustainable rural and urban futures? What are the adversities, challenges and solutions for building sustainable urban and rural futures in Asian peri-urban context?
On the first day of opening, speeches were given by the guests.
From the second day, seminars will be conducted.
