Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that along with the generation of electricity, a big amount can be saved by saving electricity. A weeklong energy literacy campaign should be conducted on the upcoming State Foundation Day. Just as attention is paid to preventing wastage of electricity in homes, in the same way, saving electricity in government offices should be our priority. Saving electricity should be part of our nature. Continuous attention should be paid by the Energy Department to make electricity users aware. Chouhan reviewed the Departments of Energy and New and Renewable Energy in Mantralaya. New and Renewable Energy Minister Hardeep Singh Dang, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and other officers were present. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar attended the meeting virtually.

While the 600 megawatt floating solar project at Omkareshwar is targeted for completion in the next one year, the Agar-Shajapur, Neemuch solar project, which has a capacity of 1500 megawatt, will be ready for production next year. The process of land allotment and contract signing has been concluded by completing the selection process of the developers for this project. Presently the work of construction of sub-station is going on. Apart from this, the work of 950 megawatt Chhatarpur Solar Project will also start soon. In Morena also, a detailed report for the 1400 megawatt solar project has been prepared and the work of baseline survey is going on. For this, 1750 hectares of land has been allotted.
