A talk session hosted by The World Integrity Center India here  on Saturday saw a father-daughter duo- Dr P Satish John, the vice- chairman of the State Minority Commission, Uttarakhand Government, and Zara John-talking to the  president WIC India Nazia Yusuf Izzudin. Talking about the underprivileged children and how he feels about them, Satish stated that on opening their eyes and looking around, they saw pain and darkness everywhere. “I have always wished to help underprivileged people, particularly the children. I long to help and educate  them and also to bring some light in their life,” he said. Asked if India as a society lacks compassion, Satish said, “Human beings all over the world are same. They have a selfish mind. If people start thinking about others apart from their own ulterior motives sufferings and poverty  being seen in the world could be eliminated.”

Speaking on the occasion, Zara John has done her Bachelors in Sociology and Child Psychology from Ouachita Baptist University, USA said that there are also good things happening in the society. Talking about compassion, Zara stated that aware of the social issues, the new generation knows how to empathize. “They stand for people in distress,” she added.

Among those present at the talk session were  the students from DBC School, Scholars’ Home and Doon Bible College.
