Provisions of Coloniser Act would now be applicable in colonies being developed beyond the city limits. The builders would be able to construct houses for Economical Weaker Sections (EWS) and lower Income Group (EOW) in such colonies and they may charge Ashray fee for the purpose.
In the meeting of State cabinet held in the State assembly premises on Wednesday morning, the proposal brought for amendment in Panchayat and Rural Reforms Act was cleared. Now, the builders would have to seek permission from the competent authority instead of OSD for developing colonies in rural areas.
