College students will narrate government schemes to the villagers of the Gwalior-Chambal region to uplift their socio-economic condition, and persuade them to adhere the ancient concept of 'Panch Parmeshwar' to make villages dispute free.
Taking this initiative, Divisional Commissioner(DC) Gwalior and Chambal divisions Ashish Saxena has directed to all collectors of both the divisions to conduct a training session for college principals and managements in this regards.
"In the first phase, 200 government and private colleges have been identified. Every college has adopted one village, and the students of these colleges will conduct a periodical visit in their respective village to narrate the villagers to take advantage of the government schemes", Saxena told The Pioneer.
He said that the training sessions would be held on 30 August at all eight districts headquarters. Ministers for Higher Education and Revenue departments Mohan Yadav and Govind Singh will virtually attend the session along with their Principal secretaries, the DC also said. Apart from college heads, 3-4 teachers from each college, Sarpanches, Patwaris, panchayat secretaries and beat in-charge constables would also take part in the sessions, Saxena added.
After getting training, the colleges will train the students and send them to those villages, where less cases are pending before the courts and they will persuade villagers to make dispute free villages on the 'Panch Parmeshwar' concept.
The students will explain about the selected 25 government schemes under this initiative including Ayushman Bharat, BPL card, MNREGA, Sambal Yojna and ration eligibility slip.
"Aim of the initiative is not only to uplift the socio-economic condition of the villagers but also to build the students' self-confidence. It will also be helpful the students for their all-round development", the DC also added. "The move is also aimed to upgrade the software (mindset) of villagers", the DC further added.
'Samjhauta se Samadhan', an innovation to make villages dispute free has been introduced by Saxena to bring harmony among the rural people.
More than 4048 small cases have been disposed of in 400 villages through mutual consent so far. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appreciated the innovation.
