A collection agent was robbed of Rs 2.30 lakh cash by three armed miscreants at Abhiruchi Parisar under Aishbagh police station area in the afternoon on Wednesday.
Rambabu Pal, the victim was carrying Rs 2.30 lakh cash and was robbed after he left one of the retailers he was attacked by miscreants who assaulted him when he opposed snatching the bag carrying cash.
According to the SHO Aishbagh Ajay Nayar condition of the victim is reportedly stable. The whole incident took place with a time span of 15-20 seconds. The victim was attacked, assaulted and robbed of Rs 2.3 lakh cash collected from the retailers. Before the victim and locals could understand miscreants escaped with the cash.
Investigating Officer SL Chaturvedi said that victim was carrying Rs 2.5 lakh and he gave Rs 20000 and was on his way to deposit Rs 2.30 lakh at his office at Bharat Talkies area but was robbed near Abhiruchi Parisar.
The victim got injured after he tried to grab the knife used by the accused to threaten him and his fingers were injured in the robber, he added.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 394 of the IPC and started further investigation.
The robbery was committed in the afternoon and till late in the evening police were searching for clues of the miscreants by checking CCTV cameras installed in the area and nearby area of the spot.
