The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is taking strict action against the coaching institutes of the city for displaying advertisements without seeking prior permission.

On Wednesday an FIR under the Property Defacement Act was lodged against three coaching institutes at TT Nagar Police Station for displaying their advertisements on boundary walls without taking proper permission. Notably, three coaching institutes including Perfect Bank Coaching Institute, Excellence Bank Coaching Institute and Career Coaching Institute displayed the advertisements at the boundary wall of Apex Bank at New Market without permission.

An FIR was against the directors of the institutes Sanjay Tiwari, Animesh Sir and Chakrabarthy Sir respectively. Further, TT Nagar Police Station registered the FIR under Section 3 of the Defacement of Property Act 1994. On December 29, 2014 a notice was issued to all the directors of the coaching institutes for the removal of the advertisements from boundary walls. After receiving the notice as many as eight coaching institutes removed the advertisements but these institutes did not take any action. BMC Commissioner Tejaswi S Naik here on Wednesday instructed the officials concerned to take strict action against those damaging the public property.

Naik further cautioned that strict action will be taken against property distortion by damaging the public places, displaying advertisements walls, erecting banners and flexes on electric poles and displaying advertisement by other means without taking permission. Moreover, Naik also cautioned the directors of coaching institutes to remove other materials such as banners and flexes which are displayed without permission or else strict action will be taken.
