A 60-year-old man who came to participate a ‘public hearing’ conducted by Chief Minister has been duped by a ‘nephew’ of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan near his official residence. The elderly man, who is identified as Shankarlal Ahirwar, a resident of Bankhedi Hoshangabad, was standing at the Gate no 6 of Chief Minister when the youth, who himself claimed to be a nephew of the CM, approached him and told him that he could facilitate his meeting with the CM. Then the youth took him to Kamla Park and asked him to handover his mobile phone and sum of just Rs250 so that he could speak someone who is close to the CM. Believing him, Shankarlal handed over his cellphone and money and was waiting for his return. Since the youth did not turn up, the old man realised that he had been cheated and then approached Shymala Hills police station. In his complaint, Shankarlal mentioned he came to attend a public hearing being held by CM for complaining against the Sarpanch and Sachiv in regard to the allotment of fun0d under Indra Awass Yojana. The victim claimed he had received information that the fund against his application has been allotted but Sarpanch and secretary were not releasing the allocated fund. The police registered a case and launched investigation.
