A complaint regarding hacking of a twitter account of RTI activist Anand Rai was lodged here on Monday with the Cyber Crime cell of Madhya Pradesh police by Sanjay Singh Masani, brother-in-law of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

On Rai’s twitter account, some time ago, serious allegations were levelled against Sanjay Singh Masani. However, when objected by him, Rai claimed that his twitter account was hacked and he was not responsible for the tweets.

On Monday Cyber crime police station attracted media attention after Masani lodged a complaint against RTI activist Anand Rai and along with the complaint he also provided documents supporting his claim.

In his complaint, Masani stated that Rai’s allegations were baseless and when he was confronted he made the excuse of twitter account hacking. It should be investigated that Rai’s account was hacked and action should be taken against the miscreant but in case if it is found that the account was not hacked and Rai has operated and tweeted on November 27 action should be taken against Rai.

Masani along with his lawyer Rajesh Bindra arrived in the city on Saturday and while speaking with the media persons told that notice regarding defamation case has been served to Rai.

He said that Rai has been given 15 days for apology and in case Rai fail to apologize he would file a case in Mumbai high court.

In the tweet Rai alleged that Bhasani has invested Rs 500 crore, a flat in apartment, a bungalow worth Rs 40 crore and involvement of making movies tax free in Madhya Pradesh. Masani was enraged over the abusing by Rai over twitter. The tweet surfaced after Masani met actor Akshay Kumar regarding permission for film shooting in the state.

Anand Rai has clarified on the issue that his twitter account was hacked and he had not used any wrong words. He said that he had informed the cyber crime cell regarding hacking of his twitter account around a month ago.
