Continuing its attacks on the State Chief Minister, the Congress on Thursday challenged Shivraj Singh Chouhan to prove wrong if their charges against him were right.
leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh, in a statement, here said, “Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is trying to confuse the people of the State by stating that Congress is making attempts to malign his image on the directives of New Delhi. This is to mislead the people of the State and an attempt by the Chief Minister to divert the attention of the people from the allegations levelled against his family members.”
Singh further said that the Chief Minister’s Jan Ashirwad Yatra had become a medium to clarify his image over the allegations levelled against him and his family members.
“The Chief Minister had gone tetchy by the proven charges levelled against him and which was why doing unrestrained babble in order to divert the attention of the people from the core issue, he added.
Asking the Chief Minister not to mislead the people, the Congress veteran said the allegations levelled against him were with proof and reminded that defamation and the charges levelled against the Chief Minister by him in the No Trust Motion brought by the Congress party during the Monsoon Session of the Assembly were totally different issues, he added.
He said that during the No Trust Motion, the Congress party had asked the Chief Minister what the financial status of his brother and brother-in-law in the year 2003. Why didn’t he clarify about this issue, he added.
The leader of Opposition also added that Chief Minister claimed to be a son of a farmer, his brother was also a farmer’s son in the year 2003 besides being a teacher. But how come his brother became a builder from a teacher and farmer, and how did he purchase property worth crore of rupeesIJ
