Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will distribute e-Governance Excellence Awards for promoting e-Governance projects in the State and adopting innovations for it on April 13, 2015. Science and Technology Minister Bhupendra Singh will preside over the 8th prestigious award function organised by MAP_IT. Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa will be special guest for the event. The function will be held at 5 pm at Mahindra lawn, Hotel lake View Ashok, Shyamala Hills, Bhopal.
MAP_IT will give away 31 awards in 10 categories for year 2013-14. Along with cash awards, trophies and certificates will also be given. Excellence awards are given for outstanding works in information technology and e-governance sectors to departments, officers and institutions every year. Following receipt of nominations, selection is made by an expert committee after 3-tier scrutiny.
Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a symbol of excellence in e-Governance and IT sector. Role of science and technology is very important in delivering better services to people and providing a transparent and effective administration. This fact is being underlined in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation and MAP IT are the foundations of expansion of IT services in Madhya Pradesh. A number of important initiatives are being taken through them. This process is going on continuously.
On the lines of Digital India, the state has taken steps ahead and established electronics manufacturing clusters at Jabalpur and Bhopal. Work is progressing fast on IT Parks at Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior. Government officers and employees are being imparted training through computer training centre at Mantralaya (Vallabh Bhavan).
Similar training is also being imparted through regional skill development upgradation centres in 15 districts. It is being expanded to remaining 36 districts. Madhya Pradesh is pioneer in the country by formulating e-mail policy. It is also ahead of other states in establishing dialogue through video-conferencing. NIC’s role has been important in this.
