Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan targeted Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre alleging that it is violating the federal spirit of the Constitution by discriminating against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Governments in States.
Extending his support to the political resolution that was adopted at the Goa national executive meet of the party on Sunday, Chouhan said that the UPA Government has proved to be a disaster on every front. “Common people are extremely affected by rising prices and large scale corruption in the country.
Besides, the Congress has also made a mockery of the poor by delaying passage of food security bill in the parliament,” he said referring to the bill on food security which could not be passed due to untimely prorogation of the parliament.
Accusing the Congress-led UPA for allegedly discriminating against the States’ ruled by BJP government, Chouhan said, “The Congress is meting out a step-motherly treatment towards BJP ruled States.”
“Ignoring the federal structure of constitution, the Congress is bent on destroying it which is contrary to our culture and tradition”, he added.
“The Congress-led UPA treats different States of the country differently. Its discrimination is at its highest wherever there is a BJP Government. Political discrimination is a tradition of Congress party,” Chouhan alleged.
“But discrimination among the people of this country only on this basis that a particular State is not ruled by the Congress shows authoritarian mindset,” he said, adding that the UPA has always behaved in this way towards non-Congress and especially BJP ruled states.
At the same time, Chouhan did not shirk from projecting his Chief Ministerial achievements at the party meet charged by Narendra Modi’s alleviation.
He said that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has presented a model to the country which is based on sensitivity towards different aspects of human life.
“Public participation in Governance is clearly visible in the State. It is due to this that several State Governments are following the schemes implemented by our Government,” he said.
