Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh never talked about the development of his constituency Churhat in past two tenures of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

Chouhan was addressing a public meeting at Churhat on Saturday, during his ongoing Jan Ashirvad Yatra. He said that he would leave no stone unturned in the development of Churhat, because the BJP Government is committed for all-round development of Madhya Pradesh.Since, Ajay Singh has never asked about the development of the region, this exposes his commitment towards the people of Churhat, Chouhan alleged.

Talking about the commitment of the Congress towards development, Chouhan said that during Congress' regime, Ban Sagar, Gulab Sagar and other projects were lying pending for years despite having invested crores of rupees, but nobody was getting benefited with this. The BJP Government not only completed these projects, but also benefited more than 65,000 farmers of the region.

Becoming sentimental, Chouhan said, "I do not have any pride of being a Chief Minister. I consider myself first servant of the citizens and feel the pains of common people." Talking about the Congress, the Chief Minister said that during the period of failures, the Opposition party is passing through desperation. It has no plans for development and welfare of people.

later, addressing a meeting at Sidhi, Chouhan said that by coming out from Chief Minister's residence, he has made the CM a common man. On the occasion, he announced that for the employment of youth, a new industrial corridor would be developed from Jabalpur to Singrauli through Katni, Rewa and Sidhi.

He told that he always thrived for the welfare of poor people, women and farmers. "Since, they are my life, in past nine years, I could not sleep properly. I always thought as how to develop my State. The development done in the BJP regime is visible to all. Till the tenure of Congress, only 47,000 km roads were constructed, but we have constructed more than 90,000 km roads," he added.
