Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan undertook a roadshow in Jhabua on the last day of campaigning for the Ratlam–Jhabua parliamentary by-election on Thursday. Main markets were decorated with the party’s flags and saffron archways were put at every nook and corner of the town. Daises were put up at several places to welcome Chief Minister Chouhan and the people were eager to get a glimpse of him.

Chouhan was accompanied by Transport Minister Bhupendra Singh, Vinod Gotiya, Maya Singh, Mayor Malini Gaud, Gopikrishan Nema, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) women cell State president lata Wankhede and BJP candidate from the constituency and Petlawad MlA Nirmala Bhuria. The road show culminated in a public election meeting at Maharaj Bada Chowk.

Overwhelmed with the affection shown by large number of people Chouhan said that this is not the welcome of Shivraj Singh Chouhan but is that of the policies and customs of the BJP that have been lauded by the people. People of the area have earlier blessed us by making victorious in the assembly and parliamentary elections but due to the untimely demise of Dilip Singh Bhuriya the development works of the area halted. Now, to complete those works the party has fielded late Bhuriya’s daughter NIramala Bhuria with the consent of all due to her honesty and arduousness, he added.

Chouhan further said, “The people of the constituency would make Nirmala Bhuriya victorious in this by-election and would make her parliamentarian to help us complete the halted development works. She is dedicated worker of the BJP. There are BJP Governments in the State and at the Centre. To provide momentum to the halted development works of the region and to get them completed at faster speed Bhuriya would work as bridge between the State and the Centre.”
