Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing public meetings for civic elections in the State on Sunday, said, “As per the constitutional vision urban bodies like municipal corporations and municipalities are the axle of urban development, hence the power sources should be handed over in such hands that could provide pace to the development.”
Chouhan, while addressing a public meeting at Itarsi, said, “Madhya Pradesh is example of strengthening rural and urban bodies that have been strengthened by the constitutional amendments. The civic bodies now act as the axle of the development of cities.”
Chouhan further said that the funds provided by the central and state Governments reach municipal corporations, municipalities and Panchayats. If the leadership of the civic bodies does not go in right hands then the target of development would be defeated.
He said that it is a coincidence that there is Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in New Delhi while here in Madhya Pradesh also BJP is ruling. Hence it is natural that the development of Itarsi would get preference if BJP is voted to power, but if mistake is done and BJP does not win Itarsi municipality elections then the development targets would remain incomplete, he added.
The chief minister called on the people of Itarsi to make BJP candidates victorious for the comprehensive development of Itarsi.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressing another election meet at Shujalpur said, “the BJP Governments of the country and state are committed for the development of cities and to bring the country in the category of advanced and developed country.”
Chouhan said that the BJP Governments do brainstorming for people of the country and then prepare schemes for the development of all sections of the society. These schemes are honestly implemented by the BJP Governments for providing peaceful atmosphere in the country, he added.
He said that with the change in country’s Government, atmosphere has also changed and the people of country are getting familiar with the development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government of the centre is committed to bring the country in the category of developed and advanced countries, he added.
Chouhan said that schemes for all sections and groups of society are run in the state by his Government and that his Government is committed for the development of all sections of the society.
