CM asks Sonia to learn from him to eradicate poverty

Exuding confidence about Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government coming to power at the Centre after the ensuing parliamentary elections, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi to learn from him to eradicate poverty.

Addressing a rally at Jhirniya in Khargone parliamentary constituency, Chouhan asked as to why the people would vote for the Congress, when the grand old party has failed to meet its promise of arresting inflation and price rise.

Taking a dig at Sonia for failing to curb poverty, Chouhan said, “Madam Sonia agar garibi hatana hai to Shivraj se seekh lijiye.” (if you want to eradicate poverty learn it from me).

Also taking potshots at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, he said that the Amethi MP was not even aware whether onion grew, under the ground or above.

Maintaining that his Government was alive to the woes of hailstorm-hit farmers in the State, Chouhan said let polling be over on April 24, compensation money would be transferred to the bank accounts of farmers on April 26.

In his speech, the Chief Minister also targeted the Congress for complaining to the Election Commission about officials of the State Government on a regular basis. “Complaining about officials will not save the Congress from a definite defeat in the parliamentary elections,” he said.

Chouhan also slammed the UPA-II Government for failing to react timely over the beheading of Indian soldiers on the border by Pakistan army.

Chauhan said that the Congress had made an unbreakable series of false promises. Congress deceived innocent public every time and has lost its image among the public. The people have to decide whom they want to see their next leader.

The Union government always meted out step-motherly treatment to the State. He said the country needs a strong Prime Minister.  Narendra Modi is such a strong and patriotic candidate of the BJP who deserves to be the Prime Minister of the country. The BJP is the party always concerned for the development of the poor people. For progress, people need to vote for Modi.

Chauhan said that the people have to throw out the Congress, and support the BJP for development. During the tenure of the UPA government, prices got hiked for everything including petrol, diesel, urea, DAP and others. The Congress made the country bankrupt in the last ten years.
