Clouds clear, PMT counselling kicks off

Published on:

Following the Supreme Court guidelines and entangled in controversies the Pre Medical Test (PMT) counseling started on Sunday with few hiccups during the day.

On the first day of the counseling as many as 109 selected candidates opted for the registration for the admission in Medical and Dental Colleges across the state.

In the wake of the fraud practices and fake candidates the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board had taken precautionary steps.

The fewer number of registrations is accounted for the fear instilled in the selected candidates specially that has cleared the exams using wrong means and are under the scanner of investigation. The admission would be provisional and the scrutiny of the documents would start from Monday and will continue till July 26.

The registrations are open till July 25. If the process goes well then on July 31 the college and seats allotment would be declared.

In the morning the counseling was hit by few glitches but the problems were resolved afterwards. The server was down initially but the problem was sorted out later told the Director of Medical Education SC Tiwari.

The Dean of Gandhi Medical College Nirbhay Shrivastava told that the students are going to be scrutinized after the allotment at the college on all parameters which were held at the time of examination.

The opposing forces chose to continue their efforts and lodged a complaint with the MP Nagar police on Sunday. A group of ABVP activists have lodged a complaint with the MP Nagar police regarding the fake candidates held during the PMT test

The group was demanding an FIR against the controller Dr Pankaj Trivedi, PRO Sunil Shrivastava, and Controller Dilip Kumar Sanwantare and seven others. However the police have not filed any FIR but have accepted complaint and assured to take necessary action.

The activists visiting the MP Nagar was a reactionary act after 15 ABVP activists were detained and later sent to jail after they vandalized the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board.
