Clerical cadre strike to be treated as illegal

Published on:

The State Government has decided to treat the strike by Madhya Pradesh Clerical Cadre Government Employees Union as ‘misconduct’. It has also decided to take disciplinary action against government employees who remain absent from duty during the strike period.

The State government has apprised all collectors and commissioners of the standing rules regarding the strike. In view of the earlier circular of General Administration department and Madhya Pradesh Civil Service (Conduct) Rules 1965, they have been directed to ensure their strict compliance. Absence of striking employees will be deemed as illegal and salary for the strike period will not be payable to the employees concerned.

All benefits given to Madhya Pradesh government’s officers and employees have been received by clerical cadre also, but their demand to remove pay disparity is pending for which the government has constituted a 5-member committee. The committee will submit its report in 1 month.
