The classical music lovers of the city witnessed calm and a mild evening, adorned with the Hindustani classical ragas held at Ravindra Bhawan Auditorium. The 44th Barkha Mahaotsav was organised on Wednesday at Ravindra Bhawan. Organised by Abhinav Kala Parishad, Bhopal, it featured live concerts of two renowned Hindustani classical singers. Arif latif who hails from Mewati Gharana and playback singer Suvarna performed at the concert.

The concert began with spontaneous performance by latif.  He began his performance with Amir Khusro's Kalam 'Mohe Apne Hi Rang Mein Rangde'. He then performed another romantic song 'Saanso Ki Mala Mein Simtu Main Pi Ka Naam' leaving the audience enthralled.

The programme was then followed with the performance by Suvarna. Suvarna performed Thumri, a semi-classical Indian music. Its rhythms are romantic or devotional and usually revolve around a girl's love for Krishna.
