The classical music lovers had a delightful evening at the Ram Krishna Mission Ashram, when Amir Khan played an enchanting Raga on the Sarod. A Sarod recital was held at Ram Krishna Mission Ashram on Monday giving a perfect example of calm and divine music.
A renowned Sarod played Amir Khan performed Sarod recital at the programme adding more charm in the evening. He began the recital with Raga Gorakh Kalyan. He played variations in Alap, Jhor Jhala. He then performed Ek Taal and Teen Taal. As he was playing the Sarod, his experience and love for music was clearly witnessed by the audience.
Raga Gorakh Kalyan is played in the first half of the night. It is an enchanting and a sweet melody which gives relaxation to the listeners. It has some shades of Raga Durga and Bageshri and so it is elaborated and beautiful raga.
Amir is known for his versatility and innovations. His style is versatile, ranging from traditional Indian music to new techno style.
The innovation he brings into his compositions makes him different from others composers. As he began singing, the audiences were awestruck to witness the programme.
He wonderfully blended classical tunes into the rhythm of classical music which was loved by the audience.
His performance was a mixture of Indian and Western tunes altogether giving a delightful experience to the audience.
