Class III staff union's strike call has limited impact

The strike called by the Class III Government employees Union in the State on Tuesday had partial impact as the other unions did not support it.

The Class III employees Union had given a call for mass leave on Tuesday but only one-fourth of the Union responded the call. Though the union claimed that it had support of other unions and that employees of many departments would remain on mass leave but failed to get support from many other unions. Thus, the agitation failed to leave any impression as only a few offices witnessed low attendance.

State president of the union Arun Diwedi told, “We had announced mass leave agitation to press for our twenty point demands including hike in grade salary, seven per cent dearness allowance and third time bound pay scale to be given in 10, 20 and 28 years service.”

Most of the employees of Mantralaya, except a few employees’ leaders reached their office while the attendance of class three employees had partial impact in offices located at Satpura, Vidnhyachal, Amarkantak, Arera Hills, Narmada Bhawan at second stop, Rajya Shiksha Kendra and directorate of public instructions.

On Monday the MP Health Employees Joint Front has staged demonstration before the Mantralaya. State president of the front SS Korav told that memorandum was handed over to principal secretary of chief minister Iqbal Singh Bains. “If our demands are not met by October 13 than we would  hold statewide strike,” he added.
