Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and fervor in the state capital. Many programs were held to mark the occasion.
Bhopal mayor Alok Sharma unfurled the national flag at Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) at the ISBT campus of the corporation while the Chairman of the BMC Surjeet Singh Chouhan unfurled the Tricolor at central workshop of the corporation located at link Road number 3.
Mayor Sharma greeted the people of city on the occasion and also addressed the gathering on the occasion at ISBT campus. Earlor, the mayor inspected the parade of the fire brigade workers. Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
BMC Commissioner Tejaswi S Naik, additional commissioner MP Singh, members of the Mayor in Council (MiC), BMC employees and officers, Corporators and eminent citizens were present in large number on the occasion.
BMC Chairman Chouhan also greeted people of the city on the occasion.
IGRMS
The Director of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS), Prof Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri hoisted national flag on the occasion of 67th Republic Day at the Veethi Sankul premises of IGRMS. On this occasion the security personnel involved in the catching the thieves of sandal wood from Rajput House in IGRMS on the night December 10, 2015 were awarded commendation certificate by Chaudhuri in presence of lt. Col Nitin Raj Deshpandey. later officials of IGRMS presented patriotic songs. The Republic Day celebration 2016 was organised in leadership of Administrative Officer BK Chatterji. Naga tribal artisans from Manipur l Nagaol Tao and Alkhela Pao presented patriotic songs in tribal language.
Nirbhaya Women Shelter Home
In order to spread the feeling of patriotism and love towards the country, Republic Day celebrations were held in Nirbhaya Women Shelter Home. The aim was to inculcate a feeling of pride and make every one responsible towards their duties. As per the traditions, the celebrations began with Saraswati Vandana by Shelter staff and inmates of MP Anusuchit Jati Vikas Evam Kalyan Samiti Bhopal that was followed with the hoisting of National Flag by ASP North Manu Viyas, CSP Shahjanabad Bhopal Sunil Kumar Shivhare, Thana Incharge Shahjanabad Salil Sharma and Chairman of the Samiti Sher Afzal Khan.
Podar International School – Indore
Podar International School, Khandwa Road, Indore celebrated India’s 67th Republic Day on 26th January, 2016 in all its solemnity & grandeur. To mark the importance of this day, a grand celebration was held in the school and many activities were conducted in the school premises.
The occasion was commenced with the Flag hoisting by the Principal of the School which was followed by the March Past and Salutation of the National Flag by the Students of all 4 houses.
