he Congress has brought in a brigade of Bollywood actors to shore up its otherwise grim prospects in the mayoral and municipal polls of Bhopal.Apart from continuation of the Narendra Modi factor and good tiding of the BJP, the Congress has to counter the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the lone star campaigner in the State capital.
Noted film actress Naghma and yesteryears Bollywood hero-turned-politician Raj Babbar will take on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the municipal elections of Bhopal.Notably, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh has decided to rely only on the image of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is campaigning in favour of BJP candidate for mayor Alok Sharma.
Few other leaders, including State BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan and organisational general secretary Arvind Menon, are also campaigning for the party. But Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going to be the lone face to take the poll campaigns from the top.
Since, this is the third term of Chouhan in office as Chief Minister, other leaders also have spoken about the working of the Chief Minister during election meetings in Bhopal or other three places where elections are scheduled on January 31.Factually, in the past two terms, the Congress has made all out efforts during the lok Sabha or Assembly elections, but failed to find any dynamic leader who can take on Chouhan.
While only 10 days of intense electioneering are left, the Congress has now decided to rope in Naghma and Raj Babbar for addressing election meetings in Bhopal.
