Chauhan informed the members about the new platform launched for filing income tax returns and said that this step has been taken to ensure a transparent tax environment by eliminating the physical interface between the tax authorities and taxpayers.

Also, other measures include a directive that reduces the powers of regular assessment officers to conduct surveys and limit them to investigation and tax deduction by the source wing, but also for these functions, the director general or Permission of senior officer of the rank of Principal Commissioner will be required.

Earlier, welcoming the participants, Siddharth Chaturvedi, Chairman, CII Bhopal Zonal Council, congratulated the government on the launch of the platform "Transparent Taxation Honoring the Honest".

He said that the platform has taken major reforms like Faceless Assessment, Faceless Appeal and Taxpayers Charter. The framework has been prepared and will greatly benefit the taxpayers. Such reforms will further lay the roadmap to make the income tax system uninterrupted, painless and faceless and improve the Ease of Living, furthering the Honorable Prime Minister's philosophy of self-reliant India.
