The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh is organising Krishi Vikas 2015 exhibition from May 25-27, at Dusshera Maidan in Indore. The exhibition will be organised along with ‘Krishi Mahotsav’, a larger initiative of the State Government to train and educate farmers on latest techniques and technology to boost farm produce. Krishi Mahotsav is expected to have a participation of more than 50,000 farmers from across states who will participate at different workshops. leading technical and research institutions are also expected to participate at the Mahotsav.

Chairman, CII Western Region and Chairman & Managing Director Kirloskar Brothers ltd Sanjay Kirloskar said, “Agriculture sector occupies nearly 60% of India’s geographical area and also employs more than half of its population. Its share in GDP which has been shrinking over the years now stands at a mere 13.9%, which is a matter of concern. Drastic changes in climatic patterns and over dependence of the sector on monsoon call for timely adoption of modern and scientific farming techniques to enhance productivity. I am sure that Krishi Vikas will address issues faced by the sector and guide farmers on the path to progress and prosperity. The host State MP, which recently clocked a 25% growth in agriculture output is an inspiring role model for other states.”

MP has won the prestigious ‘Krishi Karman Award’ third time in a row for excelling in wheat production in country. Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture   will be part of ‘Krishi Mahotsav’ and ‘Krishi Vikas’ and confer the Krishi Karman award to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on May 25.
