The Dream Start-Up Challenge for the Year 2016 has been announced by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Bhopal Chapter of Young Indians (YI) in association with AISECT and Netlink to promote the budding startups and entrepreneurial talent in Central India.

This initiative was started by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation vertical of Young Indians Bhopal Chapter from Year 2015 onwards and after the successful completion of last year’s edition, it has now been constituted as an annual initiative of YI and CII.

While interacting with the media, the Chairman of Bhopal YI Chapter Rakesh Sukhramani and the head of Entrepreneurship and Innovation vertical of YI Bhopal Siddharth Chaturvedi informed that the contribution of Indian entrepreneurs is already being applauded worldwide but it is just a glimpse of the actual potential of Indian youth. Dream Start-Up Challenge 2016 will provide an opportunity for the various entrepreneurs from Tier-2 cities like Bhopal to match the immense exposure and eco system that is available to someone in major cities.

Hitesh Ahuja, Co-Chair of YI Bhopal Chapter further informed that as per Nasscom’s India Startup report 2014, India is the 3rd largest start up base in the world with more than 800 start ups being founded annually. By 2020 India is stated to have over 11500 startups employing over 250,000 people. However, more often than not entrepreneurs from smaller cities do not get the same exposure and eco system that is available to someone in cities like Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi etc.
