The Christians and the Catholics attended Good Friday Service online from their homes with gratitude and joy. It is an overwhelming proof of Christ’ love for them. He loved humanity unto the death of the Cross.
The remembrance of Jesus’ Passion & Death was held in certain Churches of Archdiocese of Bhopal with maximum 10 people at 3 pm on Friday as it was permitted by the local authorities. Rest of the people participated in the service online provided by the individual churches besides Atma Darshan TV, Indore.
Friday is Good because to die for others is the greatest love and Jesus an innocent died to save the sinful humanity once for all on this day so that we may not perish but to have eternal life. This is an unconditional love of God Almighty to send his only son to save the entire humanity. Therefore it is good.
There were three major parts in the Good Friday celebration namely the Word of God which was proclaimed and meditated on the purpose of Jesus' death on the Cross. Secondly universal prayers for the world, coronavirus, our country and its leaders, church and for all who don't believe in God. Thirdly the veneration of the Cross. The service began with the way of the Cross, meditating upon Jesus' 14 stations before his death followed by the main ceremony of the Good Friday.
Fr. Maria Stephen, the PRO, said, “The Cross has the power not only to forgive our sins but also the power to make us whole; When we’re weak, it has the power to strengthen us; When we’re tossed hither and thither with pain and meaningless in life, it has the power to anchor our lives."
