Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan charged on Tuesday that the UPA Government was misusing Central probe agencies against the Opposition parties and their Ministers by levelling false allegations against them to defame them.
launching the second leg of his 50-day Jan Ashirwad Yatra, Chouhan said “to hide its failures and incapabilities, the Congress-led government is misusing Central probe agencies against Opposition parties and their Ministers by levelling false allegations against them as part of a conspiracy to defame them.” Chouhan was addressing rallies as part of the Yatra in Chitrangi, Sidhi, Sihaval and Churhat Assembly segments. He was referring to news reports about Income Tax department’s report referring to a diary seized from a mining baron during a raid in which the names of two ministers were mentioned.
Taking a dig at the Congress whose reins have normally been in the hands of erstwhile royals, Chouhan, who was a farmer’s son, claimed the BJP government had achieved in just nine years what the Congress could not do in 60 years of its rule. Highlighting various steps taken by his government for the welfare of farmers, Chouhan claimed due to sustained efforts and a strong will to turn agriculture into a profitable venture, MP had emerged as the number one State in the country in terms of agricultural production.
The State provides loans to farmers at zero per cent interest and had made efforts to supply 24x7 power to the people. Notably, photographs of BJP’s national campaign committee chairman and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi continued to be missing in the second phase as well from the posters and banners dotting the Yatra route. Pictures of other senior BJP leaders, including former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Deputy Prime Minister lK Advani, were prominently displayed along with Chouhan and State BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar.
