Directive has been given to motivate all the officers and employees to become followers of Chief Minister’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts. Through a circular, Principal Secretary General Administration K Suresh has apprised all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, heads of departments, divisional commissioners and collectors regarding this.

Government officers and employees have been directed to connect with the Chief Minister’s official Facebook account www.facebook.com/CMMadhyaPradesh and Twitter account www.twitter.com/CMMadhyaPradesh. Targets like getting feedback and suggestions, public relations, public awareness and innovations can be achieved through these accounts.

Through the social media, the Chief Minister will be in direct contact with all the employees and officers engaged in Government work.

For this, all staff including teachers, gram sahayaks, patwaris, police constables, forest guards etc may establish direct contact through social media with the Chief Minister by showing their clear-cut identity within limits of authority and privacy and established norms of transgression.

It is noteworthy that social media is becoming a handy  tool for administration nowadays. The Chief Minister himself is using social media for this purpose and interacting with people through Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp.

It is necessary that distance between people, Government departments, officers and employees is reduced through social media. Government’s capacity to contact people will also increase.

Through it, messages can be sent to people and Government’s outreach can be increased. Government can also learn about the people’s complaints and views.
