The Union railway budget presented in Parliament on Thursday by Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu is a balanced one, which will ensure far-reaching improvements in the rail system, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said here.
Chouhan said that the Union Minister has set a target for investment of Rs8.56 lakh crore during the next 5 years. This will not only strengthen the railway system and make it more convenient, but will also improve the country's economy.
The Chief Minister said that rail is the most important wing of the country's transport system. Strengthening the rail system and making it more convenient had been contemplated for long.
