Chouhan Govt will probe ‘corruption’ in Nath Govt

The Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government in Madhya Pradesh has decided to probe the last six months’ tenure of the Kamal Nath Government. A decision in this regard was taken in a Cabinet meeting on Friday.

While talking to mediapersons about Cabinet decisions, Minister for Home and Health Narottam Mishra on Friday evening said, “No works were done in the Kamal Nath Government as whatever funds were received, were diverted to Chhindwara (CM’s home town). Even no works were done in Chhindwara and State also was deprived of funds,” alleged Mishra.

Vallabh Bhawan was reduced to centre of middlemen, alleged Mishra adding corruption had peaked and State Government used to release transfer list of officers daily.

We (Ministers) have urged the Chief Minister to form a Group of Ministers (GoM) so that massive corruption took place in the last six months of Kamal Nath Government could be probed into, said the Minister.

The BJP while in Opposition had constantly alleged massive corruption in the Congress Government in transfer-postings. The Congress Government too had affirmed to expose previous BJP Government’s corruption until it met an untimely end in March this year.

“The BJP Government has no control on things like ration distribution, people walking to MP from far off places and getting killed amid corona outbreak but it talks about probing Congress Government’s tenure to divert attention,” former Public Relations Minister PC Sharma alleged.

BJP spokesperson Hitesh Bajpai claimed that in the last six months of the Congress Government, those in power focussed solely on minting money by making a mockery of norms so the GoM would study all these anomalies and would suggest action.
