Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan created a flutter among political and administrative circles on Friday by questioning the motive of some whistleblowers, while addressing the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers’ meet here on Friday.
Probably in the context of the infamous Vyapam scam, he said, “There are a few whistleblowers who are good and doing good job, while there are some who are not. They have formed a gang and are harassing people in the name of seeking information. They need to be dealt with strictly.”
He further said that such a system where innocent people do not face problems needs to be developed. Talking about the bureaucracy, Chouhan said that the bureaucracy of Madhya Pradesh is considered the best in the country. This service is certainly meant for serving the country and changing the nation. “An idea regarding girl child’s welfare had clicked my mind and I put forth this before the IAS officials and finally the ladli laxmi scheme was chalked out,” he added.
Chouhan suggested the officials not to feel pride after getting bungalow, vehicle and security guards, because they (facilities) have been allocated to them for serving the people.
Pointing out groupism among the IAS fraternity, Chouhan said that IAS officers’ groups have been formed, which is not good. There should be no dispute between the officers and the people’s representatives. “The system sometimes discourages. I deliberately bring some of the issues that need not to be brought in the Cabinet,” he added.
